Missions
The Church is active in mission both locally and abroad. All members are encouraged to participate in missions through prayer support, financial giving and volunteer time. If you would like more information about any of these missions, please contact the Church Office (949-1378 or

The Minister and Elders of John Gray Memorial always stand ready to counsel in times of grief, death, family or personal problems or happier times such as baptisms and weddings. The United Church Council also operates the Bethesda Counselling Centre in George Town which can be contacted through the Church Office or directly at 946-6575 or bethesda@candw.ky.

The Hall is made available to organisations and schools for meetings and can be rented for community and family functions (check office for details).

The Hall is a District Hurricane Shelter.

Locally there is a ministry to the needy within our fellowship, by way of a monthly monetary stipend. Funds are also allocated to be used for those in the community in need of ‘one off’ help.

Members contribute canned goods and toiletries weekly to a ‘Mission Basket' which is distributed to persons in the district whose budget may not cover all necessary groceries.

Soup*r Saturdays: on the second and fourth Saturday mornings delicious, healthy, home-made soup is served free to those who need it and distributed to those who cannot attend.

Between Christmas and New Year a meal is prepared by members and distributed throughout the district to those who are alone or needy, especially the elderly.

'Easter Baskets' of necessary items are distributed annually to 'close at home' members and other individuals in the community.

An After School programme is run throughout the school year for approximately 60 children. They engage in a structured programme of devotion, homework, craft, sports, outings, play, etc. and are served a snack.

Each summer, Vacation Bible School for youngsters is hosted with fun and Bible study. This is open to all.

Young persons from the congregation and wider community meet weekly during term time for Youth Group, His Kids and Girls' Brigade.

Each month, senior citizens of the district come together in the Church hall. There is often an activity or an outing and a meal is provided.

Internationally our mission extends to children’s homes run by the Church in Jamaica and a nursing mission in Haiti.

By our active membership in the Council for World Mission we are linked to the whole world. This Council is comprised of 30 Fellowships, spanning six regions of the world and is committed to sharing personnel, ideas and money for the mission of the Church globally.

We support the Cayman Prep and High School, The Pines Retirement Home, Cayman Against Substance Abuse (CASA), Pringle Home (Jamaica), Long Look Primary School (Jamaica), Wycliffe Translators and special projects such as the Lions Sight Conservation Programme.
